Easter Cantatas

Norðurljós, Harpa Concert Hall & Conference Centre | Tuesday 23. march | 19:00

The Bachcelona Festival continues its complete cycle of J.S. Bach’s cantatas, which has featured renowned conductors such as Ton Koopman, Shunske Sato, Václav Luks, and Masaaki Suzuki. On this occasion, we present a program featuring the soloists of the Salvat Foundation, accompanied by the Bachcelona Consort. The program includes three cantatas closely linked to the celebration of Easter: Bleib bei uns, denn es will Abend werden, BWV 6; Der Himmel lacht! Die Erde jubilieret, BWV 31; and Erfreut euch, ihr Herzen, BWV 66. Together, they offer a rich and varied musical journey, featuring some particularly beautiful arias for the soloists.
